Delegation programme for the Norwegian CCUS study trip to Denmark

Background

The B2B study trip is done in collaboration with CCUS Norway and the Norwegian Embassy in Copenhagen. The aim of the trip is to explore the potential for cooperation and innovation between Norwegian and Danish industry actors in areas such as CCUS technology development and deployment, supply chain cooperation and regulation - or policy development.

Draft programme

The programme is pending availability at sites and may be subject to change. Sites can only be booked once a tentative participant list is provided. The programme provides an overall introduction to all topics within CCUS, covering policy updates, industry updates, and innovation updates in carbon capture transportation, utilisation, and storage.



Day 1: Wednesday, 18 September 2024

  • Morning: Flight to Copenhagen

  • 12:00 – 13:00: Networking lunch

  • 13:00 – 16:00: CCUS Seminar

    • Welcome by the Norwegian Embassy in Copenhagen

    • Presentations on Denmark’s Carbon Capture and Storage plans, cross-border CO2 transport agreements, and updates on offshore CO2 storage projects.

    • Discuss carbon capture from power plants, research initiatives, and innovation roadmaps.

  • 19:00 – 21:00: Dinner at the embassy residence

Day 2: Thursday, 19 September 2024

  • 8:30 – 10:00: Visit a Waste-to-Energy Plant with Carbon Capture Technology

  • 10:30 – 12:00: Tour of a Carbon Capture Material Testing Lab

  • 15:00 – 16:30: Visit a Carbon Capture Technology Testing Lab at the Danish Technological Institute

Day 3: Friday, 20 September 2024

  • 9:00 – 10:00: Presentation on the role of ports in CO2 storage, featuring Port of Aalborg and Port of Hirtshals

  • 10:15 – 11:30: Visit to a Methanol Fuel Cell Manufacturing Facility

  • 12:30 – 14:00: Tour of a Biogas and Pyrolysis Plant

  • Evening: Return flight to Oslo

The participants pay for travel and accommodation, everything else is covered by the project.
