Project: CCUS Value Creation

This project started in January this year and will be finalised in June 2024. The goal for this project is to contribute to innovation, new business opportunities, technology development, increased competence, growth in existing companies, and the possible establishment of new ones. The project is funded by Viken fylkeskommune and the partners. The support from Viken amounts to NOK 2,280,000 (50% of the total costs of the project).
The partners are Aker Carbon Capture, Beform, Borg CO2, Borg CO2 Terminal, Capsol Technologies,  IFE,  Mosjøen og Omegn Næringsselskap (MON), Norske Skog Saugbrugs, NORSUS, SINTEF, Slåttland, Stormkast Utvikling, Fredrikstad kommune, Fredrikstad Næringsforening, Klimapartnere Viken, Næringshagen Østfold and Carbon Centric.

CCUS Suppliers Forum

In this project we have established a suppliers forum that is especially for suppliers of technology and/or expertise for the development of the CCUS industry.

The aim is to contribute to strengthening the opportunities for the suppliers. We share opportunities and find ways for collaboration and growth. For more information, see: https://www.ccusnorge.no/news/ccus-suppliers-forum

CCUS value creation

During the project period we will present the partners - the CCUS suppliers - map business opportunities and growth opportunities. How many new jobs will be established? What competence is needed to build the CCUS industry in the region and in Norway? Could we work together with academia to ensure the right competence in the future? This is what we will look into - so stay tuned for more information!

Borg CO2 Terminal

One of the partners, Borg CO2 Terminal, plans to build and run a terminal for CO2 transport. What is the value creation potential for the terminal? Will new industri want to move to Viken to reduce their transport emissions of CO2? Will the establishment of the CO2 terminal attract new industri and new businesses? We will find out!

Environmental and resource effects of CCU

–a literature study

As one of the deliverables of the CCUS Valuecreation-project NORSUS has conducted a literature study. The main goal of this study was to examine how different CCU routes perform environmentally and regarding resource efficiency.
